   Soccer Day

In early October, we have our first special event for the children (see League Calendar).  We break early, usually around 2:45 or 3:00, and gather in the fields in front of Goodman Stadium ( Field Map).  There, for the next 45 minutes, the children and coaches are served hot dogs, soda, and other snacks and given the opportunity to win one of many cool prizes.  Each year league representatives solicit donations from area restaurants, retail stores and businesses.  To date, they have been extremely generous (Sponsor List).  Over the years we've raffled off soccer balls, Major League Soccer jerseys, various toys, gift certificates to area restaurants, cool posters and of course, the grand prize - an outrageous CD Boom Box.  

This is all free.  And judging from the reaction of the crowd, win or loss everyone walks away with a good time.
